Typhoon, the monstrous opponent of Zeus in greek mythology
Chalcidian black-figure hydria of Typhon fighting Zeus, c. 6th century BC.

Typhoon was a terrifying monster that was created by Mother Earth to do harm to Zeus

    Genealogy of Typhoon
Typhoon was strong and huge creature created by Gaea, the Mother Earth and Tartarus, the personification of the depths of the Underworld.

Typhoon was created to put obstacles to Zeus on his way to Kingdom. It had a body full of feathers and on his shoulders there were one hundred heads of a fierce dragon with black tongues. The bawls of Typhoon were producing all kinds of terrifying sounds and everywhere it went to it would spread fear and disaster.

Typhoon mated with Echidna, who was half woman and half snake and they created creatures that would bring terror and mischief to mankind: Orthos, a two-headed dog, Cerberus, a three-headed dog, Lernaea Hydra, a chtonic, serpent like creature with numerous heads and Chimaira, a creature with the body of a goat, the tail of a snake or dragon and the head of a lion.
